1pm - Two days off, then four nights shooting and then I go home. They don't seem to have much Italian television, nearly everything I find on is british or american dubbed into Italian. Even a lot of the adverts are clearly dubbed from other languages. At the moment it's what looks like an Agatha Christie, certainly Angela Lansbury is in it. Last night I watched the tail end of a vampire film with Gerard Butler as a vampiric Judas Escariot - that was good cause I could understand what was going on even in Italian. It was really well dubbed, Italians know all the names of the people who dub the big films, they are celebrities in their own right. They also seem to have Italian versions of all the same reality shows we have.
Yesterday we shot a couple of early scenes where I get up and go downstairs and the scene where Pietro sees me in the kitchen after I'm dead - more dead makeup. We also picked up a garden shot we missed earlier and redid the bathtub sfx scene where Lucia tears skin off her face.
It's been so hot for the past few days. I could try and go to Rovigo or Adria today or tomorrow, or even try and get to Venice, but I need to start moving back to the night schedule ready for friday and I don't really want to go anywhere in this heat on my own when I don't speak any Italian and nobody speaks any English. I'd have to catch the bus and if I got the times confused or missed the bus I'd be screwed, also most stuff is shut in the afternoon anyway.
Between playing a character who doesn't really speak and mostly not being able to speak to anyone I think I may be losing what small ability to communicate I had in the first place.
